The West Green House Opera Festival, located near Winchfield in Hampshire, takes place each summer in the enchanting setting of a historic manor surrounded by remarkable gardens. More intimate than Glyndebourne, Garsington, or The Grange, it charms visitors with the quality of its productions and its warm, inviting atmosphere.
The 2026 edition will feature The Magic Flute by Mozart, an enduring masterpiece blending enchantment and humanity; Le Villi, Puccini’s first opera, a rare and poignant work with Gothic undertones; and Tosca, a passionate and spectacular drama. The festival will also present a gala evening showcasing iconic arias and ensembles from the operatic repertoire.
The four-hectare gardens, restored by Australian landscape designer Marylyn Abbott, combine English tradition with Australian inspiration. Open two hours before performances, they invite visitors to stroll or enjoy the traditional picnic, a hallmark of British opera festivals.
